The amount of the fee shall reflect the actual direct costs incurred by the local law enforcement agency in implementing the provisions of this article but shall not exceed seventy-five dollars for the initial registration with the local law enforcement agency and twenty-five dollars for any subsequent annual or quarterly registration.

visit, against an inmate's account for every inmate-initiated request for medical or mental health services provided to the inmate by a physician, physician assistant, nurse practitioner, registered nurse, or licensed practical nurse. The department shall assess a copayment, in an amount established by written procedures of the executive director pursuant to subsection (4) of this section, against an inmate's account for every inmate-initiated visit by the inmate to a dentist or optometrist. The amount of the copayment for the dental or optometric services need not be the same as the copayment for medical or mental health services.

law, the sheriff shall receive and may tax as official costs the mileage fee as established by section 1 of the act of July 20, 1979 (P.L. 156, No. 51), entitled “An act establishing a uniform mileage fee for all officials, officers and employees of the Commonwealth, its political subdivisions, intermediate units, and authorities,”1 for each mile necessary to be traveled by the sheriff, deputies or employees. The mileage fee shall be received on each separate writ, rule, order, decree, process or notice served or service performed. The sheriff shall not receive more than one mileage where the plaintiff and the defendant and two or more contemporaneous writs are the same, or when two or more persons or prisoners are being conducted at one time to or from a place of detention or correction. The sheriff shall receive the mileage fee for transporting the prisoners and the deputies guarding them, and meals and lodging during the journey and the return of the deputies.
